Bridal trends for spring

It's that time of the year again when brides ramp up their concerns about the seating plans, grooms start planning their last night of freedom and bridesmaids up and down the country worry that they're going to have to wear something they could never show their face in again.
So those who are tying the knot this summer could go some way to reassure their sisters and friends that they will not be forced to wear a frilly meringue on the big day.
According to Georgina Way, student liaison officer at The Wedding Planner School, there is plenty of scope for on-trend brides' and bridesmaid outfits.
"Pastel shades work well for a vintage-style, traditional English wedding, but if the couple are feeling brave, there are some bold colour trends around for the summer season - tangerine is set to make an appearance this summer," she noted.
"You don't have to go all-out with a technicolour wedding dress, but you might choose to incorporate blue, red, orange, purple or green in more delicate ways."
This could include stand-out shoes, earrings or flowers for the bride and her attendants.
"Consider putting your bridesmaids in different bold colours of the same style dress, with each bridesmaid in a colour that they can work - and they will love you for it," added Ms Way.
If you like everything to match, try incorporating lace into your bridesmaids' dresses - this fabric is huge this season, thanks in part to the Duchess of Cambridge's famous wedding gown.
Susi Rogol, editor of Bridal Buyer magazine, explained: "For this season, it's lace, lace and more lace. Lace is being used in little sculpted shrugs to give a hint of cover-up through to strapless gowns and as detachable straps to complete top layers."
Of course, the British weather being as unpredictable as it is, it might be worth investing in a smart cover-up in case dark skies suddenly threaten halfway through the photos.
A tailored jacket from the By Marlene Birger range will take you from reception to ceremony and can be removed in time for the first dance.
