Introducing the Goodwood Sports & Racing Collection by Belstaff
Recently landed at Seasons Clothing, brand new for Spring Summer 2013 is the exclusive Goodwood Sports & Racing Collection by Belstaff (or GSR by Belstaff for short). Only available in a few selected stockists around the world, the collection focuses on reviving luxury classics from the depths of the Goodwood racing archives. Between 1948 and 1966 Goodwood was the haven for British motor racing and today it is the home of the largest motor-culture festival in the world. The GSR by Belstaff collection pays homage to Goodwood's living motor-sport history focusing on the competitors garments and fashion, more specifically the iconic outerwear pieces for which Belstaff had become famous for in the 50s and 60s.
One jacket in which Belstaff had become famous for at that time was the Trialmaster jacket. Known for its signature four front bellow pockets, designated to keep a riders personal possessions dry and secure without adding extra bulk while riding through its collapsable ergonomic design. Drawing inspiration from the original Trialmaster design is the GSR by Belstaff Woodcote Jacket. Constructed from a Turquoise wax cotton fabric featuring the signature four front pocket design and belted waist, its not hard to see the iconic Belstaff characteristics shining through in this superb collaboration. The jacket itself is named after the final double apex corner of the Goodwood motor circuit, a very fitting tribute to Goodwoods legendary motorsport history.
Also in the GSR by Belstaff clothing collection is the beautiful tan leather Glover Jacket. The jacket is a classic blouson silhouette named after Goodwoods annual Formula One race in the 1950's and 60s, The Glover Trophy. Boasting a hand waxed outer calfskin leather fabric ensuring both style and protection, it features a dual zip and GSR embossed press stud front fastening, multiple front pocket detailing and a contrasting GSR by Belstaff leather patch on the left arm. The jacket embodies the union between Belstaff and Goodwood creating a showcase piece of the Spring Summer clothing range.
