Founded as a continuation to the highly popular Materials of the World, the Adidas Flavours of the World series is inspired by annual cultural, ingredient-based famous events from around the globe. Constructed from luxurious materials and made in limited numbers creating a highly sought after collection and one for any sneaker enthusiast. Each inspired event can be found running through the design of each individual trainer.

The Pro Model Vintage was released in January 2008. January Flavour of the Worl is inspired by Janus: The Roman God of beginngs. Known as the custodian of the universe, Janus is lord over the first hour of every day, the first day of every month and January - The first month of every year. Visually, he is represented by two heads looking back to back and he also symbolizes many other things: The transition between primitive life and civilisation, rural and urban existance, youth and old age and the balance between peace and war.
