Fjällräven

The story behind Fjällräven began in 1950's Sweden. Åke Nordin, a 14-year-old boy from Örnsköldsvik in the Northern part of the country, was about to go for his usual trek in the mountains. Åke, who spent more time outdoors than indoors, did not like the small, uncomfortable, pear-shaped backpacks down around his rear that were available at that time. He decided to take matters into his own hands and built a wooden frame, and his idea, and an iconic brand, was born.

From those humble beginnings, Fjällräven has now expanded to almost all corners of the world, with a product range that now includes an outstanding range of both outdoor equipment and clothing. But the fundamental ideas are the same; offering comfortable functional equipment for even the most harshest journeys in the outdoors.
