Founded as a continuation to the highly popular Materials of the World, the Adidas Flavours of the World series is inspired by annual cultural, ingredient-based famous events from around the globe. Constructed from luxurious materials and made in limited numbers creating a highly sought after collection and one for any sneaker enthusiast. Each inspired event can be found running through the design of each individual trainer.

The FOTW Micropacer was released in February 2008. Februarys Flavour of the World is inspired by the Carnval Of Venice: A festival symbolized by the wearing of masks. The carnival was first recorded in 1268, as a celebration involving every excess where participants would travel the city incognito with the aid of masks. Over the centuries, the reputation of the event led to the wearing of masks being prohibited and celebrations being more controlled. However, it was resurrected in the late 1970s when a modern mask store began a revival of old traditions and engaged the nations imagination.
